The End of June Bugs

The end of June sadly marked the end of the month’s June Bugs Vacation Bible School at NorthStar Church. Jenna enjoyed it so much and became really comfortable going to Kid’s Church during this time as well. We were only in town for 3 of the 5 weeks, but I was able to help out in Jenna’s class each week, which I really enjoyed too. Here’s a picture of us before we left to go to the last night’s festivities.

Here’s a shot of Jenna and some of the other kids waiting for the skit to begin, which was held outside for this final week.

Their game this week was to “catch bugs” in the bug catcher jars they made. Aren’t they cute? Jenna really got into the hunt for bugs--of course this time it didn’t involve getting wet which was her hesitation the previous weeks.

After they caught their bugs, they all lined up and were given ice cream sundaes.

You can never go wrong with kids and ice cream! Especially ice cream with chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, marshmallows, sprinkles, gummy worms, and oreos! Can you say, Sugar High??? Oh, and don’t forget the sugary kool aid too! Needless to say, they were pretty wound up when they went home!

Jenna loved it though and enjoyed making soup out of the concoction like she normally does with ice cream. She comes by it naturally though because I seem to remember when I was little, I always stirred my ice cream until it became liquid too. Why would either of us do such a thing? Who knows, but it must be a kid thing!
