Denson's Day of Decadence

A few weeks ago, Starbucks had Frappucino Happy Hour from 3-5 each day and offered 1/2 price frapps. We took as much advantage of this special as we could since we love frapps, but hate spending the money they cost. (To prove how rarely we treat ourselves, Jenna asked Daddy to order her some chicken nuggets when we were going through the drive thru!) The special ended on a Sunday, so we had to take advantage of them one more time on the last day.

This was the weekend that Mom & Dad were here, and we'd already been talking about taking Dad to Menchie's since he missed out going with us when we took Mom on the night before Joshua was born. Jenna was very excited to show him around and how to create his own fro-yo combination, and since we were running out of time that weekend, we decided to follow Starbucks with Menchie's. It's yogurt, so how bad could it be? It's actually nutritious, right? We didn't get any pictures of our creations--we must have been really craving it!

After our two treats, we went to McKay's Used Books to check out the deals and just happened to be a few blocks away from Krispy Kreme. Poor Jenna had never been there to see donuts being made and eat them hot off the conveyor belt. Once again, Mom & Dad were only in for the weekend and it was right around the corner, so we might as well go while everyone was there. Can you say, sugar high?

Jenna was very excited to go see the "Dunkin Donuts" being made. We had to quickly shhhh her since they're competitors!

I wish Mom & I knew how to make these wonderful donuts--or maybe I'd regret it if we did!

How irresistible does this look? Hot, fresh, glazed donuts.

It was quite an indulgent day, but will definitely be a memorable one. The funny part was, Jenna was really getting into the excursion. Every time we passed a restaurant on the way home, she wanted to stop there too. She could have continued for several more stops, I think!
