Joshua is Two!

Our little guy turned 2 years old last month!  It's so hard to believe 2 years have already passed since this special day.

We made these cute cookie monster cookies for him to take to his friends at school--I'm sure his teachers appreciated the blue icing!  : )  The teachers allowed Jenna out of her class so she could join the party, which she loved.  Here's a few pictures Jenna or Joshua's teachers took of the celebration:

We went to Atlanta to celebrate Joshua's birthday with the family.  We continued the cookie monster theme and made this super-cool cake for his party.  He loved it--and it tasted great too!  He wanted us to sing "Happy Birthday" over and over again--we finally stopped after the 3rd or 4th time.  Each time, he successfully blew out the candle.  Cool kid!

Joshua loves Cookie Monster!
He couldn't wait to blow out the candle--we'd been practicing!

Poppa had fun encouraging Joshua to really get into his cake!

I think Mimi was worried Joshua was going to share his icing with her!
Joshua loves his Mimi!
Proud of the mess he'd made
Jenna thought Joshua needed this umbrella, and he was so excited!
Auntie Mary Ann bought him this cool personalized shirt

He loves his new truck from Auntie Mary Ann
So excited about all the fun!
Joshua is such a blessing to our family.  Here's a few things he loves to do:
  • Help me in the kitchen
  • Watch Jenna's educational movies to learn about colors/letters/numbers/shapes/etc.
  • Say hi and bye to complete strangers
  • Play with his big sister (and do everything she does)
  • Play guitar and sing with Daddy
Here are just a few things I love about him:
  • His bashful smile is so sweet
  • His newly-learned words
  • His laugh
  • How he holds out his hand and says "hand" when he wants me to help him walk up/down the stairs or in a parking lot.
  • How he helps us correct Jenna (when it rarely happens) by shaking his finger at her and saying "no!"  (Jenna hates this about him!)
  • How he's discovered his pockets and likes to walk around with his hands in them!
  • How Jenna and Joshua love each other.  What great kids we've been blessed with!
