Introducing Joshua Randal

My induction was scheduled for 6 am this morning, but when I woke up at 4:30, I felt like things were already starting. I was having contractions and I felt like he's dropped just overnight.

When I arrived at the hospital, the room was waiting for me. I had my IV ready to go by 6:30, and the doctor checked on me at 7:45 or so. I was about 2-3 cm at that point, but she was able to go ahead and break my water. They started the Pitocin and contraction were pretty intense by 8:45, so I requested the epidural. By 9:30, the epidural was in effect, and I was a much happier camper. I was 4cm at 10:30, and was 10cm an hour later. I started pushing at 12:08, and he was born at 1:08 (our wedding anniversary--January 8). This delivery was so much easier than Jenna's! Thanks everyone for your prayers! We are blessed with a beautiful, big, healthy baby boy! He weighed 8 pounds and 5 ounces, was 22" long, 15cm head circumference, and dark brown hair. He's slept peacefully most of the day, so we're hoping that continues so we can get a good night's sleep!

We'll post more pictures later!
