It brought back many memories of Randy and my dating years. We spent our first date walking around downtown Chattanooga--on that same walking bridge--into the wee hours of the night. We’ve enjoyed many Riverbend Festivals, visited the aquarium, took carriage rides, were married there, had our wedding reception there, and spent our wedding night in the beautiful Bluff View Inn. It’s such a beautiful city and it always feels like we’re home when we visit.
It was a fun weekend to share with Randy and the kids. Here are a few photo highlights.
Joshua found a big magnolia tree and decided to hide in it.

He loved playing in the "Heavy Metal" art exhibit in Coolidge Park.

Jenna liked the walking bridge at first, but became tired of it when she realized how much walking was involved!

Of course, both loved the carousel!

After the carousel ride, we showed them the water area. Joshua slowly checked out the water when a small fountain coming from the ground became a taller fountain pretty quickly. The water got in his eyes, and we weren't sure how he would react. After he got over the surprise, he went back for more. The kid absolutely loves water!

Jenna, on the other hand, was quite worried about getting her dress wet. After at least 10 minutes of watching the kids play, I was finally able to coax her to at least get her hands wet. After seeing the fun, she decided to "make her dress a swim suit," so she was then able to justify getting it wet. She had a blast too!

On the way home, we stopped by the Chattanooga Choo Choo to walk around and see their beautiful gardens. The kids enjoyed seeing the trains up close too.

We'll definitely have to make another trip in the fall!
