Our Little Princess Girl

Jenna is growing up so fast. I thought I'd write this post to help me remember how I love her at this age.

A few weeks ago, Randy called her Buddy, which is one of our nicknames for Joshua. Jenna quickly responded with, "I'm not your buddy; you can call me 'Little Princess Girl.'" Since then, she's also mentioned that "Jenna Princess Girl," or "Princess Jenna Girl" would also be acceptable.

She's also becoming quite the little helper. Every afternoon, I pick up Jenna from her class at school first, then we go to Joshua's classroom to get him. His teacher loves her because everyday she picks up all the toys and puts them back according to the pictures on the bins. Also, each morning, she proudly does her job of taking his milk out of the diaper bag and putting it in the refrigerator for him.

Tonight, before she went to sleep, she wanted to "organize" her clothes. She went through her clean clothes basket, separated it into piles according to the type of clothing, put the hanging clothes on hangers, then asked for my help with hanging them in her closet. A girl after my own heart! (Note: Now, it's an hour and a half later, and she's still awake. So maybe she was stalling. Either way, it's impressive that she's taking the initiative to keep things organized.)

She's just a really sweet kid. She's started complimenting a lot more, and is very cognizant of other's feelings. She accidentally hit Joshua with a toy this weekend, and I think she cried more than he did.

She loves life and loves to dance. She loves an audience and is enjoying having a little brother whose glued to her every move. It seems like everywhere we go, she lights up the room and people notice her contagious, happy personality.

She is very conscientious of her clothes and always wants to wear dresses or skirts--we have to talk her in to wearing shorts. She wants to make sure everything matches, so she checks to be sure the same colors are in her various articles of clothing. She doesn't think jeans match everything, so we're trying to each her that; she still argues when her shirt doesn't have blue in it thinking it doesn't match the denim.

She always wants to win--it's her new thing. She wants to win at getting dressed, getting her seatbelt fastened first, and going to sleep (which can be nice!) She gets very upset when she doesn't win! We're trying to teach her she won't always win, but it's good to see her competitiveness.

Just 3 more months and she'll be 4 years old. We're so proud of the sweet girl she's becoming!
