Memorial Day in Atlanta

We made a quick, last minute trip to Atlanta for Memorial Day and had a great time visiting with family and celebrating our freedom in America. My father and grandfather both served in the military, and I'm proud and thankful of the part they each played in the freedom we so often take for granted.

Since we so seldom are all able to get together for a visit, Mom and Dad decided to make this a somewhat non-traditional meal and grilled steaks instead of the typical hot dogs and hamburgers. It was quite a treat! Aunt Mary Ann made yummy pasta salad and brought corn on the cob and Mom and I made a "stars and stripes" blueberry pie. Everything was delicious!

This was Papu's first time meeting his great-grandson Joshua:

Auntie Mary Ann enjoyed cuddling with her great-nephew and playing with her great-niece:

Dad cooked a great meal on their new grill:

Mom & Dad's lilies were gorgeous!

Thanks, Mom & Dad for a wonderful weekend! My apologies to Aaron and Steven for not getting any pictures of either of you...watch out next time!
